1. Set a specific goal for yourself
Think about why you want to go to the gym. Highlight that goal, concentrate on it: you want to lose 3 kilograms, lose 5 centimeters in waist circumference or strengthen your back and abdominal muscles. The more specific the goal, the better the chances of achieving it. And after that work in the gym until the winning result.
2. Find "your" workout
It is not necessary to work with a barbell, train on TRX-trailers or relentlessly pump your abs, if it's not your thing. Choose a workout that you enjoy - do yoga, Pilates, boxing, take a dance class or go trampoline training. When you find your sport, each trip to the workout will be a long-awaited adventure and you'll want to go again and again.
3. Start small with a workout.
Don't try it, do it - start working out. Let it be a small half-hour workout to begin with, because at the beginning of the way your body is not accustomed to physical activity, and therefore will not be able to handle excessive loads. The fact that you started to work out is already good. And further on, you will want more.
4. Reward yourself for your success at the gym
Nothing motivates you more than rewarding yourself for your athletic prowess. So don't forget to reward yourself. Buy yourself that sweatshirt you've always wanted once you've reached your goal, or treat yourself to a piece of sushi or your favorite food after you've worked out 10 sessions without a break.
5. Find a comfortable place and time to work out
Driving to the gym halfway across town is more than an excuse to give up the sport. So that the city traffic jams or laziness do not become your constant excuse from working out, choose a convenient fitness club nearby. At the same time, the fitness club should also be pleasant and comfortable for you. Try visiting several establishments near your home and work, and choose the one you feel most comfortable in.
6. Get company and support
It's all about responsibility: if you're supported when you work out together, a sense of responsibility to a friend won't allow you to skip a workout for nothing. Plus, it's much easier to motivate yourself when you see other people's results and successes.
7. Add variety to your training
Our brains are built in such a way that they enjoy learning new things. In order not to get bored with the monotony of training, from time to time choose different types of loads and activities. And every now and then, for fun, take a class that differs from your typical workouts. Thus you diversify your athletic leisure, and even quite ordinary workout you will be interesting to attend.
8. Get a gym membership
A membership to a fitness club, bought with your own money, is a great motivator to work out. Even if you don't really want to go to the gym, there's a huge chance that you'll still go, because the funds are already invested in your sports training. Let it be a monthly membership at first. Calculate how much it would cost you to hypothetically miss a class and how much you had to work to pay for it. This will help you pull yourself together and work out in the gym.
And may the strength be with you!
