The popularity of dating sites increased around the beginning of this century. In fact, the first matching service was created in the middle of the 20th century by two students at Harvard University. In those days, computers were huge machines the size of a closet, and the Internet, in the usual sense of the word, practically did not exist. But how did people manage to find a mate with the help of huge devices? The process looked rather complicated, but the technology worked quite well for itself.
Students of Harvard University can be considered the creators of the first dating service in history. In 1965 (!), They decided to use a computing machine to create a technology that could introduce people to each other based on their common interests. Ultimately, they created a service, for each use of which they had to pay a certain amount for those times. Each user had to fill out a special questionnaire, which indicated his personal data and interests. After that, they received a list of people with similar interests. It remained only to find the person of interest in real life and start dating. It was the first and only one of a kind dating service. It did not have analogues for a very long time - they appeared only in the 1990s. A significant plus was the fact that you could set your photo in your profile. After all, whatever one may say, people first of all evaluate each other by their appearance. Appearance can tell a lot about a person's relationship to himself. And interests and other personality traits are revealed during communication.
