This year I will bake Easter cake again according to my grandmother's recipe. It is written in an old notebook, yellowed, with spots of dough.

Easter is one of those holidays that you can’t help but feel in your heart. Especially if we talk about Ukrainian Easter — a bright, deep, very warm tradition that unites entire generations. At this time, houses smell of vanilla and fresh baked goods, and in the soul — peace, anticipation of a miracle and a special silence filled with meaning.

When I was a little girl, Easter began with the smell of vanilla and the rustle of newspaper on the kitchen table - that's where my grandmother cooled the cakes. And, of course, with the question, “Have you rolled the eggs out of the refrigerator yet?” - as if they had to prepare themselves for coloring.

Spring for me isn't just a change in weather, it's an internal adjustment. You know how before Easter we clean the house? Well, I feel like my soul needs a general cleaning too. To wipe the dust off hopes, throw out old resentments and put dreams in their proper place. 🌸

Easter for me is not only a religious holiday, it's also a personal moment of feeling spring and hope.

There is something very special about the moment when you bring fire home from the church.

In short, Easter is like New Year's Eve for me, only with cottage cheese, eggs and no olivier. And if a little more seriously - it's the time when my soul finally wakes up with snowdrops, and I - with the aroma of freshly baked paska (which, by the way, I never get perfectly even, but it's already a tradition).

In our family, putting together an Easter basket is a whole event.
